Professional worker with unsecured borrowings of 30k+, resulting largely from time at university, with student loan on top of this. Interest mounts and before you know it the situation spirrals away.
My interaction with the company:
I met with Melanie to discuss the options. I planned to propose an IVA and Melanie helped to review other possibilities before reaffirming that an IVA appeared to be the most appropriate solution.
Why I gave the ratings I did:
I felt that I was treated like a human being and whilst I was certainly aggrieved at myself for getting in to such a mess I never had any negative response from the firm. They were thorough, efficent and productive and allowed me to present a variation which meant that I finished the agreement 3 years early with a higher dividend than originally planned.
One thing they did - which really impressed me:
Allowing a variation offer, to the detriment of the Supervisors fee as the arrangement length would be reduced, highlighting a truly professional attitude placing the considerations of the creditor and debtor at the forefront of proceedings.
One thing they did - which I felt could be improved:
I could not fault Phillip Gill and Co. In total it took two years for me to complete my IVA (originally 5 years planned but I was able to raise 3rd party funds) and all matters were dealt with quickly and professionally.
I have now completed the arrangement and ended up paying 33p / £ dividend. I have certainly learnt to manage money now and will never let debts build up again.
