i am a single parent living with parents with £50K debt all unsecured. debts started when my partner left me whilst pregnant borrowed money to live as was not working for a year and it all esculated from there.
My interaction with the company:
i realised i was in trouble and rang clearstart before things esculated, from the moment they picked up the phone till today (when my iva was accepted) they have been superb. They guided me through the whole process explaining everything. I had a contact person and telephone number which i got straight through to whenever i needed. The whole process was made simple and straightforward.
Why I gave the ratings I did:
i rated them ten out of ten because of the ease of process, the fact that they kept me updated at all times and explained everything from the beginning to the end. Without them the whole process could have got extremley messy
One thing they did - which really impressed me:
Contact person and number. This made my situation much easier and meant i dint have to explain references or situation to countless people.
One thing they did - which I felt could be improved:
Although this wasnt a bad delay, i knew my meeting was at 10.15 but i dint get a phone call till 5pm to tell me that a decision had been made on my IVA proposal.
my dividend was 45p i wrote off over £20K and instead of paying £1200 a month to my creditors they managed to get my payments down to £480. Although i always understood how i got into debt i could never find the way to get out of it.. I ran the debt up and desperatley wanted to pay it back. This way made me realise i could still have control of my life and pay the capital back to my creditors. I am now the one in control not my debt !!!
