| My circumstances: |
| I am a professional woman and over the course of 18 years had accrued approx £100K of debt with my partner (£90k my liability), though the bulk of the debt escalated after the break up of my marriage and bringing up my son as a single parent. I was living on credit and then consolidating with loans that I could not afford. We had no equity in the house due to taking out a secured loan. Bankruptcy was not an option due to my job and in August 2007 we realised that we could no longer carry on deluding ourselves living on credit. After putting some details into a website I was approached by a company in Manchester who did the usual we can get you out of debt in 5 years....send us your money. They were very persistant but I got warning bells so then went to CCCS who were very helpful told me that an IVA would be the best option but couldnt help as Northern Rock had over 25% of the debt. I was desperate and found this site, read the reviews and found Melanie Giles of the IVA Advice Bureau who had good reviews and now I know how accurate they were! |

| I rang them and so my journey began. They took my details and agreed that an IVA was the best solution for me. I had 10 different creditors and I was told that Melanie had a good success rate with Northern Rock and I can honestly say Melanies negotiating skills are second to none. She consulted with Northern Rock at length in order to achieve a favourable outcome. She has worked tirelessly on my case for 7 months keeping me fully informed at all times and finally on Monday 3 March my IVA was accepted. |
| Why I gave the ratings I did: |
| I have rated them 10 out of 10 because throughout the whole process Melanie, Angela, Sarah and the rest of the team have been so supportive, responding very quickly to all of my queries.....I was being pestered by creditors constantly and I know Angela fielded many of these calls. They gave me reassurance and empowered me to deal with those dreaded phone calls. Everyone was extremely friendly and I knew I could trust them. |

| Absolutely nothing.......I cannot fault them! |

| I am now beginning a 6 year IVA; dividend being 49p in £. I never want to possess a credit card ever again! |
