| My circumstances: |
| I am a self-employed weight loss counsellor living in East Anglia. Due to my revenue for the first two years being zero, in order to keep my business going I had aquired nearly 79k in unsecured debts and had a property with 30k equity. |
| My interaction with the company: |
| I was referred to Philip Gill by Thomas Charles Ltd after an initial consultation with them. Melanie Giles contacted me and arranged a meeting where we went over the various options. I found her to be very knowledgeable, friendly and non-judgemental. I was relieved to discover that I qualified for an IVA and decided upon a final IVA whereby my creditors were offered all the proceeds of sale from my property as a final settlement. After some small changes, the IVA was accepted at the adjourned meeting of creditors. I found all the staff I dealt with at Philip Gill to be friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. |

| I rated them 10 out of 10 because they provided excellent advice, were professional and non-judgemental and came up with a solution which has meant that I can continue to run my business - something that was really important to me. |

| At the meeting with Melanie Giles, she really listened to what I had to say and took on board the reasons I had taken on the debts. She went over all the options very thoroughly and was available over the phone and by email in the following stressful weeks. |

| It would have been a bit less stressful if the time to prepare the case could have been shorter - but I think this was unavoidable. |
| Other points |
| I am moving to smaller, rented accommodation which is cheaper than my former mortgage payments. I can still run my business which should provide enough income to live on now that I dont have any debts to pay. I wish that I had taken professional advice sooner - I didnt because I was very embarrassed about the circumstances in which I found myself. The dividend on my IVA was 27.5p in the pound. I wrote off £57,202. |
