| My circumstances: |
| Due to health reasons (heart) I had to switch to an office based career which resulted in my earnings being halved.My wife and I could no longer manage our debts of £45k and mortgage.On the plus side we had some equity in our home but not sufficient to settle our debts in full. |

| The IVA Advice Bureau were the second company we had spoken to. I immediately felt comfortable discussing our situation.They gave us an detailed brief of all the options open to us. Because we had minimal cash available from our salaries Melanie Giles (our I.P.) suggested a one-off full and final settlement of £27k funded by a mortgage.At every stage we were kept informed. Our questions were always answered speedily and with clarity. |

| Our situation was dealt with professionally and with courtesy. We were kept informed at all stages and at no point were we made to feel embarassed by our financial mistakes. |

| Melanies dedication to her career. There are few professional people who will respond to your e-mails past 9pm. Melanie seems to live in her office! |

| Nothing...........<br> Thanks to Melanie, Sarah Rafique (our chief point of contact), Tina Shortland and Angela Shaw.<br> A special big thank you also to the guy who set-up our mortgage, Anthony Parsons. He was thorough and patient when I was impatient,polite when I was abrupt and was there with the answers when we needed him. A really nice guy. |

| Things we have learned from our experiences?<br> 1/ Never have anything on credit-ever.<br> 2/ Never give up hope and never have self-pity.<br> 3/ Never under estimate your finances- always expect the expected.If you start to rob Peter to pay Paul- you need help! <br> We are in our fifties and now look to a brighter future but with a keener eye on the wallet & purse strings! |
