My circumstances:
My wife and I had debts of over £30,000. My wife works and I have various disabilities. I first contacted a firm called Abacus near the end of Feb. 2007. We were sent various forms to complete. Abacus mislead these forms and we had to complete a new set. Some weeks later we were advised by Abacus that they were sending our files to Cleardebt, we were advised by Abacus that an IVA was the only option. I was also told to send them {Abacus} a cheque for £300 which we did, we have no idea what this was for as Abacus did nothing for us only pass a few files to Cleardebt. No one from Abacus has contacted us regarding this payment.
My interaction with the company:
I telephoned Cleardebt regarding our files, explained to them as to how we had managed to get ourselves into this situation. We completed the IVA papers and retrurned same. After waiting from June until 26th July my wife and I were harrassed by various creditors. We were receiving telephone calls as early as 8.00am until 9.00pm every day. We were at our wits end.
Why I gave the ratings I did:
I had two good contacts at Cleardebt, Holly and Kamrann.<br> These two people kept us right in all aspects of the IVA.
One thing they did - which really impressed me:
Holly and Kamrann were always there either at the end of a telephone or email. If had not been for these two people I think I would have thrown in the towel as regards the IVA.
One thing they did - which I felt could be improved:
There is nothing I would change as Cleardebt have a professional team and are always so willing to help as an IVA can be a very frightening thing. 
Other points
We will be paying £388.00 per month. This is more than half than what we were paying out to Credit card companies, store cards. I do not at the moment have details of dividends. We have learnt our lesson as regards handling money. I can assure you here and now that my wife and I will not fall into the same trap twice as regards getting ourselves into debt.

    Good Points
    Very informative with lots of useful information. A lot of reviews on firms that really help understand their customer service and ability. The reviews appear to be genuine as they offer interesting insights. Didn't really use the the map but looks impressive!
    Bad Points
    The site is a bit cluttered and sometimes hard to navigate around.
    General Comments
    A useful site that is free to use and full of useful information about IVAs. If you are thinking of doing an IVA then this is a must use site.
