My circumstances:
Over 15 years I had managed to amass credit card debts of £75,000 plus overdraft and personal loan. In the end I was paying off one credit card with another until the money ran out. There was no particular reason for the debt, just spending more than I earned.
My interaction with the company:
After doing research on the web, Payplan looked OK. I was attracted to them as they did not require any upfront payments and if the IVA was rejected, no payment either. I telephoned them and after giving a few brief details, a call back from one of their advisors was arranged for a few days later.<br> <br> I found them to be understanding and helpful. After the initial contact, most other contact was done by e-mail with their responses being very quick, usually the same day. I prefer to use e-mail as I then have a written record of my questions and their answers.<br>
Why I gave the ratings I did:
I rated them 7 out of 10 overall as I found them to be very helpful and able to explain things in a way that I could understand. I was not familiar with IVAs until I started doing some research.
One thing they did - which really impressed me:
Their speed of response was very impressive. Their paperwork was not always 100% but all amendments were made straight away.
One thing they did - which I felt could be improved:
I would have felt better with one point of contact during the proposal. I had about 4 different people, but they were up to date with my case. Now that my IVA has been approved, I have one contact.  
Other points
I dont feel too good about not being able to pay my debts in full, bit an IVA was a godsend to me. My dividend was 47p in the pound and I have just made my first payment. About £46,000 of my debt has been written off provided I maintain the payments. My wifes earnings were taken into account and we are both confidant that we can see this through to the end.

    Good Points
    Very informative with lots of useful information. A lot of reviews on firms that really help understand their customer service and ability. The reviews appear to be genuine as they offer interesting insights. Didn't really use the the map but looks impressive!
    Bad Points
    The site is a bit cluttered and sometimes hard to navigate around.
    General Comments
    A useful site that is free to use and full of useful information about IVAs. If you are thinking of doing an IVA then this is a must use site.
