| My circumstances: |
| Myself and partner both work full time as managers, we had debt of over 100K with hardly any equity in our property. Due to personal reasons my partner couldnt work for 3 years which put us in a situation of falling short every month for bills, the money had to come from somewhere, so we used credit cards, loans etc to cover the normal living costs. We didnt realise the long term effects, the interest mounted up and the re-payments got higher. When my partner could go back to work she put all her salary into paying off the debts, this seemed a waste of time because we couldnt cover the interest payments the creditors were charging us, we were being threatened by CCJs, court action, loosing our home and debt collectors were ringing us at least 4 times a day, even phoning us at work. Our lives were very stressfull and worrying to the extent of my partner having a breakdown. |

| We decided to seek help and we needed it fast, I contacted Phillip Gill and Co and found them wery understanding and helpful, Melanie even come to visit us at home which again was very helpful. My partner was in tears due to worry of what the courts and creditors could do to us. Melanie soon reasured her/us that she could help and started action the next day to stop creditors threats and aggressive behavour toward us. |

| We feel the only thing which could be improved is the regular updates, since being in the IVA little or no contact is made between us. I would like to know how things are going i.e. if any payments have been made to creditors, updates on IVA rules etc. |
| Other points |
| I have to say our circumstances have improved, the worry/stress has gone and we feel we can enjoy life again without the creditors chasing us all the time. We are not sure as yet how much money we could write off but we are only a year into the IVA. I would just like to make people aware of the reality factors, forget what you read and see on television, some companies out there just want to make money, they try to get money out of you and pray on people like us for profit, there is no such thing as "write off debt" creditors do want there money back. Contact Phillip Gill and Co is my advice for anyone in serious debt and you will get the facts as it is, they did help us. |
