My circumstances:
My husband and I had been married for just over a year when he was taken ill and had to undergo major brain surgery. He was never able to return to work and our debts rose to £53k. We have now paid our final IVA payment and are debt free after having £39k of debt written off.
My interaction with the company:
I spent a long time researching IVAs on the web, eventually I stumbled across Debt Lifeboat. I remember it vividly, it was a Sunday afternoon, I sent an email and within 30 minutes Mr Allen phoned me back. By bedtime my whole life felt so much better.
Why I gave the ratings I did:
I rated Debt Lifeboat and the whole IVA process 10/10 because I felt so supported through each and every step.
One thing they did - which really impressed me:
Punctuality - I have never been left waiting for a response - you only have to look at how long it took for Mr Allen to ring me back on that very first Sunday afternoon.
One thing they did - which I felt could be improved:
I think some of the paperwork which initially comes through your door is a little daunting, some people may not understand some of what is included. 
Other points
We are now debt free, I am looking to cut down my hours at work in order to care for my husband as his illness has deteriorated over the past 12 months., We have both said we would never own a credit card, store card or buy anything on HP again. If we want something we will have to save up for it.

    Good Points
    Very informative with lots of useful information. A lot of reviews on firms that really help understand their customer service and ability. The reviews appear to be genuine as they offer interesting insights. Didn't really use the the map but looks impressive!
    Bad Points
    The site is a bit cluttered and sometimes hard to navigate around.
    General Comments
    A useful site that is free to use and full of useful information about IVAs. If you are thinking of doing an IVA then this is a must use site.
