My circumstances:
I am a Business Development Manager living in Harrow, I had a debt total of £52,000 which built up from over spending and trying to keep up with repayments.<br> <br> The spending was due to a period of severe depression, I took advantage of the banks lack of lending control and managed to take out debt way beyond my limits. It wasnt until I recovered from my illness that I understood the problems I had got myself into. It was then I contacted The Debt Advisor.
My interaction with the company:
They were very understanding and Joanna the person I delt with was friendly and supportive.<br> <br>
Why I gave the ratings I did:
I gave then a high rating because at every step they gave me support and advise to get things done, and I always felt they were fighting in my corner.
One thing they did - which really impressed me:
When I finally got round to getting information to them they always came back to me very quickly to help progress the next stage.
One thing they did - which I felt could be improved:
Nothing specific to The Debt Advisors, but IVA practitioners in general. They should expand on the real down side of having an IVA. When your budget is being worked out there is no room for any kind of spare cash...Christmas, Birthdays, Holidays, Social life, none of this is taken into consideration. For the next 5 years your finances will be pushed to the limit with little or no "fun" allowance in your life. 
Other points
I cant say I have learnt much, my finances were always well controlled before my depression, it was only during this period it all went wrong. What I have learnt is it big business in this country for banks to lend recklessly and, in one instance I got a "consolidation" loan of 25k in less than a week. Few checks were done and I was amazed how easy it was. Peole should take out IVAs when ever possible and show the banks that they need to change their attitudes to lending.

    Good Points
    Very informative with lots of useful information. A lot of reviews on firms that really help understand their customer service and ability. The reviews appear to be genuine as they offer interesting insights. Didn't really use the the map but looks impressive!
    Bad Points
    The site is a bit cluttered and sometimes hard to navigate around.
    General Comments
    A useful site that is free to use and full of useful information about IVAs. If you are thinking of doing an IVA then this is a must use site.
