My circumstances:

I am a Recruitment Manager living in Staffordshire. I had nearly £25k of debts on credit cards which I had been struggling to pay for nearly five years but was barely meeting minimum payments. In the face of rising interest charges, I decided that it was time to stop suffering (financially and mentally) and do something much more comstructive and by which I could see an end to the problem instead of a lifetime of debt and halted progress.

My interaction with the company:

I rang Debt release Direct who referred me ownward to Varden Nuttall, they listened to my situation and recommended IVA, they posted forms, I completed and returned, after some small changes the IVA was accepted at the creditor meeting. I found them to be extrememly friendly, supportive, professional and helpful.

Why I gave the ratings I did:

From the time I initilally spoke to Debt Release Direct (DRD), I was treated with the greatest respect, understanding and dignity. Their handing over to Varden Nuttall was seemless in more ways than just one: The same friendliness, helpful attitude and support allayed many fears of the unknown Id harboured for years and I felt that, for the first time in a long while, I could trust people again.

One thing they did - which really impressed me:

They made me feel human again and, with their understanding approach, removed any stigma of shame and failure I felt when Id first approached their partner team (DRD) for advice. In just being who they are and the way they treat you as a client, the whole Varden Nuttall experience was like an enormous weight being lifted emotionally and financially from me - and its given me confidence to look towards a brighter future where I can plan ahead instead of being held back in a vicious spiral of debt.

One thing they did - which I felt could be improved:

I am hard-pressed to think of anything here as the teams inbtrusive and discreet approach to business coupled with their humane and caring attitude meant that everything was taken care of for me.

Other points

I would heartily recommend anyone in the same circumstances I faced to approach thse people for help - I have already recommended the firm to a few friends who have money worries of their own - and who have seen the postive change in my own mood and outlook over the last few months since seeking help. That people consider drastic (and life-threatening) measures to escape their financial worries is very understandable: I was close to that stage myself before seeking help. Turning to DRD and Varden Nuttal has been (literally) a life saver for me - the IVA virtually halved my monthy repayments (exactly half, when you consider that Im not paying high interest rates on debts that I was beforehand). Over £12k will have been written off at the end of the 60 month period - I would have paid at least half as much again had I continued to struggle as before on minimum payments and would still have had another 20 yaers or so ahead of similar misery.
