| My circumstances: |
| Back in 2006 we had over 150k debts and very little property equity. Got into initial difficulty after being made redundant but wanted morally to pay at least some back, after all we had spent the money!<br> We were under no illusions and knew it would be a hard 5 years but knew this was the right solution for us after everything had been fully explained. |
| My interaction with the company: |
| Throughout our IVA the service has been excellent, we have had a couple of sticky moments (another redundancy, illness etc) but each time whoever we spoke to at McD were supportive and helped with possible solutions and with this support we were able to maintain the IVA. Emails and calls were all answered efficiently and we were never made to feel we were a nuisance, they answered every query and explained everything we were unsure of. Our IP spoke to us personally on several occasions. |
| Why I gave the ratings I did: |
| If I could have given more than 10 out of 10 I would! We always felt we were in good hands and although they were also protecting the creditors interests in making sure the IVA worked as it should we knew they also had our best interests in mind. |
| One thing they did - which really impressed me: |
| Everyone was involved from whoever answered the calls, right up to Director level, everyone was excellent and all treated us as individuals and always appeared to know our case fully. |

| Nothing at all, they were fantastic |
| Other points |
| We have recently concluded our IVA early, after 42 months, with the help of a Director at McD, due to yet another period of redundancy and uncertainty. Originally we had a 40p dividend but on a variation the IVA has completed at around 14p. We had every intention of fulfilling our agreement but due to this awful recession just werent able to. I know it wasnt easy for McD to do this and they worked hard to achieve this outcome. <br> We have learnt to budget more and realise that circumstances can change dramatically and to be aware of this, although our debts were huge we were earning good salaries before the initial redundancy and had never considered anything could change, how wrong we were. This experience means that although money will still be tight back on one income we will be able to budget for this and save for the future rather than just live for today!! |
