| My circumstances: |
| I am self-employed and living in Bristol, UK. I had £40k of "unsecured" debt not including my mortgage, and a house with no equity. |
| My interaction with the company: |
| I phoned up Varden Nuttall after finding them on moneysupermarket.com. They called me back immediately to save my phone bill and talked to me about my options. I remember that I didnt understand everything at first, but one of their advisors came over to talk to me face to face and explained things more clearly than the girl did over the phone.<br> <br> When wed put my proposal together and sent it off to my creditors there was a delay while Northern Rock argued about the amount I was paying, but when another creditor voted Varden Nuttall explained that the IVA had been accepted even without Northern Rocks approval.<br> <br> Everyone I talked to was very friendly and helpful - once when my normal advisor was unavailable I got through to a different girl in another team who seemed to bend over backwards to help me anyway. |
| Why I gave the ratings I did: |
| Ive given high marks all round because things were always explained to me fully, and I felt very comfortable talking to them. They all know each other, so when I left a message for someone I was always confident that Id get a call back.<br> <br> Ive taken a couple of marks off for the proposal, which I thought was a bit legal-sounding. As far as I know this is standard, and my advisor explained everything to me... but I still think that it could be improved. |

| After my IVA was accepted I got a call from a different girl in the company to check that my creditors had stopped sending me letters. Id had a couple through, so she phoned them up and sorted it out for me. |

| Once or twice its taken a while to get through to someone over the phone when you try the main number. Luckily my advisor gave me her direct number so I dont have to use it anymore. |
